To calculate the effectiveness of a material as an absorber, the two most important factors are load or PSI (pounds per square inch) and the frequency of the vibration. Heat usually causes the majority of damage to electrical and electronic components. That’s because heat builds up in an electrical circuit when there is a poor connection between conductors. We find that vibration is often the reason. Over time, vibration loosens electrical components and that causes circuits to over amp, and ultimately generates excessive heat. The worse case scenario results in failure of the components. A plant manager in a textile mill in South America reported a 98% efficiency rating in weaving production when he installed the LP-13 Shake Absorber® Recently during construction of a multi-use condominium and retail complex, builders noticed vibration and noise from the rooftops down into the second and third floor. The rooftop installed HVAC heat pumps caused this. Working with the engineer, builder and architect, Kellett’s LP-13 Shake Absorber® was approved and installed under the 32 heat systems.
