We stock our custom blended neoprene for leveling and aligning critical equipment. We can custom cut shims to any size up to 22 in x 40 in in our Shore A 70 +/- Durometer and slightly larger in our Shore A 55 +/- Durometer. These shims cost less than conventional metal shims and can be stacked to achieve the proper height required. As a rule, metal shims do not increase the vibration isolation and dampening properties. Our LP-13 Shims provide additional vibration isolation, control and noise dampening. Shim hardness is scaled and compliant to ASTM D2240 Shore A durometer scale.

The thickness is 3/8 in and is strong enough to walk on without major distortion due to the cells or bubbles not being broken; they resemble inflated balloons or soccer balls, piled together in a constant configuration. This makes it strong and flexible because the bubbles are strong enough to take a lot of pressure, like the inflated tires that hold up an automobile. Also, the nitrile provides a non-slip surface. Excellent for light weight applications.

The thickness is 3/8 in and is strong enough to walk on without major distortion due to the cells or bubbles not being broken; they resemble inflated balloons or soccer balls, piled together in a compact configuration. This makes it strong and flexible because the bubbles are strong enough to take a lot of pressure, like the inflated tires that hold up an automobile. Also, the nitrile coating provides a non-slip surface. The military uses this product inside tanks as a cushion material on the floor of the tank.

Many times, specifications are vague or none existent regarding the type of material to use for vibration isolation. LP-13 Shake Absorber® Roof Curb Isolation Strips have been tested with results that can take the guess work out of selecting correct vibration isolation.
The ultraviolet resistant, proprietary neoprene and ABS plastic layered pad performs its duty at a molecular level resulting in an amazing range of dampening over a wide range of frequencies. Install and forget it until the unit should need to be moved. No more call backs and expensive refits when the job is done correctly the first time.
The LP-13 Shake Absorber® Roof Curb Isolation Strips are available in common roof curb edge widths of 1” or 2” and are available in ¾” or 5/8” thicknesses --20” or 40” lengths, these strips can be cut to fit onsite if needed for ease of installation.
Mounting motors, pumps, gearboxes and other items on LP-13 Shake Absorber® vibration isolation pads can be a very effective way of isolating transmittable vibration and therefore noise radiated by the rest of the structure. This is particularly the case where vibrating units are bolted to steel supports or floors. However, a common error with the use of these pads with bolting is to ”short-circuit” the pad, resulting in no or little isolation. Additional pads must be fitted under the bolt heads as well as sheathing the bolt from the core of the isolation pad - hence, the design of the LP-13 Shake Absorber®Bolt Isolation Kit.
